Dating Seeking – How Important is Self-Confidence?
As an individual who is dating seeking to find true love, confidence is key to dating effectively. For example, if your self-esteem is low and you do not like yourself, you might never leave the house on a weekend to get out into the single scene. If you’re not out there mingling with other prospective singles, how can you expect to meet someone? Of course, you can try the Internet dating scene and hide behind the computer; however, eventually you will need to take the relationship out of cyberspace and into the real world and you’ll need a boost of self-confidence to do that.
As the saying goes, there a lot of fish in the sea and if you are a wallflower, you’re not going to get very far. People like exciting people who have great self-confidence. Now, just because you don’t have that confidence right now, doesn’t mean you can’t or never will. It takes some self-therapy. You need to give yourself a pep talk every now and then; even the most popular people do that.
Now, not everyone is always exciting and we all have different personalities. For instance, I am not an outgoing person and I tend to be the wallflower, but I’ve learned that people are not going to come and talk to me all the time like that. I need to take the initiative some times and put myself out on a limb. When I’ve done that, sure I was nervous, but the results show that taking a step of faith does pay off.
So, take stock of if you are ready to embark into the dating seeking world and have the confidence to do that. If you’re not ready yet, don’t force yourself. Take the time to learn about your personality and what makes you tick. Try to develop your fantastic character traits and work on not exhibiting your less loveable traits. Maybe get a new haircut or new outfit and try to boost your self-confidence that way. Start an exercise routine and try to eat more healthy foods. Share with a good friend how you are going through a self-evaluation to try to reinvent yourself into the new you with a shining confidence; it will be good to have some support and encouragement.
Now, no one is saying that you are not an awesome person just as you are. The point is that you need to work up the confidence to get into the seeking dating scene and show others how awesome you are; no matter what changes you make, always evaluate how you are feeling and keep the real you at the core of the new you. Take stock of your life and establish immediate, short term and long term goals and then start putting them into action. Keep a glowing self-confidence high on those lists.
Take stock of what you like to do, for example, cooking, hiking, writing, going to movies, hanging out with friends and take the initiative and throw a party at your house or invite your friends to go hiking. Tell them to bring other friends. The more you are out there involved in the community and meeting new people, you’ll have more chances to actually meet another individual who is seeking to date. Always look your best because you never know when you’ll me your special someone.
